i'm just a beginner in this and i'm trying to learn the stitches. i've been reading definitions of stitches and looking at like the guides. but i'm finding it difficult to really understand there's just so much so i was just wondering, rather confirming here, that the slip stitch is just a synonym of single crochet? let me know if not... help this confused girl please

im not an expert in this but i think i can help with that one. Slip stitch is different than single crochet. Slip stitch is often use if you want to finish some edges or join rounds without adding any hight. pretty much you insert the hook, yarn it and pull it directly through the loops of the hook. As for the single crochet which is a simple basic stich that can give you height. You also start with inserting the hook pull it through then yarn it over again and pull through both loops. hope i clarified that to you

nope, they're not the same. A slip stitch is much shorter and flatter than a single crochet. You use a slip stitch to join rounds or to move your yarn across a row without adding height. A single crochet is a basic building block stitch that you'll use to create most of your projects
