Thread crocheting.

It is not thread like on a spool and you sew with, but the the string like balls that look like fancy twine.

Doilies and tablecloths were the items that are usually made with that weight of thread. In the great granny days, they also would make a large doily for he back of the sofa and two smaller matching ones for the arm rests.

Here is most of a tablecloth that I have it almost done. I crochet on it in spells.

This just made me miss my nonna so bad. I remember visiting her and see all those doilies in the living room just hanging around or at the table. Trip down memory lane, lol. Thanks for sharing.

Isn't that screaming "childhood memories" . It's such a great piece, i actually have a bunch of these that my grandma left. Not that you posted this you gave me an idea to try and re-create the ones my granny left. Thanks for sharing

You really should try it. It's very nice and easy to carry around for those times you have to wait.
