trying to find a fun baby blanket crochet pattern for my sister-in-law's baby due in february never made a baby-sized blanket before just adult ones so not sure what works best any fav patterns or tips for sizing yarn types etc would love to hear what others have tried
 
The berry blossom crochet pattern is my all-time favorite for baby blankets. Google it and let me know if you like it :)

i think amanda crochets just released a baby blanket tut from a month ago? it's the new one called sweetheart. she also got a cozy cuddles blanket video. you might wanna check out both I REALLY love her works.

for something fun, consider a pattern with a repetitive stitch that creates a nice texture.
The Bobble Stitch is a classic for baby blankets because it's so tactile and creates a bumpy, cute design.
The Moss Stitch is another great one, it's super easy to learn and gives a beautiful, dense fabric.
For a simpler project with a lot of pop, you could do a basic double crochet but with some fun color changes in stripes or blocks
