Custom crochet hook shape and handle advice

I'm a metalsmith crafting custom crochet hooks. What do you think, should the shaft stay round or be flattened near the hook? Also, do you think offering larger handles for better comfort is a good idea, or should I just stick with the traditional shapes? I'd really appreciate any tips on hook depth or strength as well

I'd go with a slightly flattened shaft near the hook cos it can give you better control and still preserve strength. Larger handles are a great idea, for comfort during long sessions

I think traditional shapes are outdated, flat shafts and larger handles actually improve comfort and control... so sticking to old designs limits usability and turns craftsmanship into needless nostalgia rather than practical innovation
