Susan Bates Silvalume defective hooks?

I picked up a new set of Susan Bates Silvalume hooks (the brights version) and noticed every single one had these little colorless spots like the coating skipped. Because of which, some felt a little weird and rough to the touch, which I didn't love. The seller did not hesitate to refund me (thankfully) but I kind of feel guilty since she said all her stock looked the same. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this? Are they all like that now?

Yeah a lot have noticed the same thing with recent Silvalume brights, seems like a quality issue in some batches where the coating skips, leaving rough spots. It's not just you, and the seller was probably right that the whole stock was the same. Don't feel bad about the refund, it wasn't up to par.

Pretty common with the newer Silvalume sets, the finish isn't as smooth as it used to be, so a lot of people notice rough spots or skips. I dont think you got a bad batch, I think it's just how they're coming now

Tiny coating flaws are normal, and paying extra for perfect finish is mostly a marketing scam, not a sign of better quality
