Wooden hooks

I'm relatively new to crocheting, so I'm more or less still in the process of getting all the right gear and I plan to make another upgrade. I've seen and heard people mentioning wooden hooks with a deeper groove wwhich apparently helps hold the yarn better. Is this true and if so, where can I find a good set?
