Keeping my yarn organized

I started a temperature blanket this year, and I'm really loving it. The tricky part is storing all the different yarn colors so they don't get tangled or unravel. Right now, they're still in their original store bags, which isn't practical long-term. Any tips on organizing yarn?

Thanks, that actually sounds doable, do you think it's better to organize by color, weight, or just keep whatever's easiest to grab? I'm worried color order might slow me down too much

Got it, I'll try winding them into cakes and using clear bins, it seems like it would make grabbing the colors I need way easier and cut down on tangles
